How quickly the weather changes. Soon all will be a blanket of white.

The Many Changes
October 5, 2011
By Rose Marie Rideout

Soon it will be
Frost where there’s rain,
Cool dark evenings,
Causing winter blue pain.

White capped leaves,
Glitter all around,
Covering the greenery,
Once seen on the ground.

Right now there’s a beauty,
Of changing colours to see,
Upon the Green given beauty,
A gift plain to see.

Crispiness upon each step,
Of the silence we once took,
Where creatures were alive,
In each cranny and crook.

All will be covered with a blanket
Soon snow covered ground,
Little frosted crystals,
All over the green grounds.

Winter is around the corner,
It’s felt everywhere,
As the warmth turns cooler,
Frost is felt in the air.

Love this, especially the ambience it sets. After the heat of last summer, the cooler weather is appreciated. Or until that horrible snow storm with ice comes along. Liz

Beautiful poem Rose. The changing of the seasons reminds us that life is about circles of change.

I may be wrong, but it seems like this time of the year we see more poems about the changing seasons than any other time of the year, perhaps because of the beauty of fall.

No matter the logic, you’ve penned a really nifty one Rose. You’ve done the most popular season proud.

Thanks Dick

Winter is around the corner, indeed. And each season has its own charm, as does our colorful Fall. I have to get out today, and marvel at it all.

Each season has its character and its beauty
and you know that well, Rose, and express it with heart.
i must admit i do miss the seasons and their changing.

The only thing I miss about living in a drastically seasonal place is the changing of colors in the fall. I can't even worry about winter coming because I'm happy with our, occasionally, low, brrrr! 42 degree weather. Lovely words my dear, far northern friend.
