A tribute (to tomorrow)

beginning with the end,
the pencil
scratches the surface
paper soul
movement breath
words of air

the last written line
from a cloud of yesterday
raining dreams of electricity
a raging storm of thoughts
that needs the quiet dawn

the line written - the fence:
protection of today -
from  chemicals in the brain
spring more memories
the violence of weak warriors
honorless

sold their soul to enter
the land of  uprightness
towers erected centuries before
(since then
only peace)

until they tried to break in
disguised
looking alike in the streets at night
grey conformity the chloroform
to dupe placid citizens
and a gift
that brought a soft smile
to the loyal lips

the fire of hate
unable to placate
ire iron hurt
and burning cry
of deceit

then cool ashes
soothing
turned into paper
on which
the faithful line is written
...the lining of tomorrow

a tribute to the end
the true beginning...

Reading this feels like a good, decent rain-- refreshing. My favorite line: "ire iron hurt"
--love the alliteration there, and the acrid taste of it in my brain. --Charlie

Axilea - another thought provoking poem. Admire the way the structure of the poem imitates its message. The first lines:

beginning with the end,
the pencil
scratches the surface

and the last lines:

then cool ashes
soothing
turned into paper
on which
the faithful line is written
...the lining of tomorrow

to arrive at:

a tribute to the end
the true beginning...

Axilea,
Time past is time present...the undercurrents of 'quartets' suggested but you make it distinctly your own, that unique voice I so admire. As always, simply excellent.
