Light on my face?
In the darkness of your life
you came to see me just
-- just for fun
so, here I am.

You were certainly not
expecting reluctant as you are
to see less
to hear more
to listen to a different story…

Torn pages
of a libretto
at the opera
-- your forehead covered
in sweat: surprising twists
and turns… out
to be a whole new thing
a whole new ending

quickly you rush
quivering to take control
over beings and events:
it is after all your compulsion

you rush
but it is in vain
there is smoke
and fake rain
-- for many years
I have been
an entertainer.

Oracles are vain
and miracles undocumented
in this place
where the stage reigns,
far from your pretended truth!

Persuasion at your disposal
opulent décor
eloquent sermon
oratory-while-I
know this theater
is for real.

Excomunication comes
from those lying livid hands
of yours
desperate, you thought
I would dramatize the dreamt magnificence
of your empty church
baroque but
my stage only enhances
the emotions held in the heart.

Axilea your work is always filled with the emotional ties to life and all its frustrations, memories and reflective images that carry one from the beginning to the ending where we see the finality of your thoughts...

I sensed little sadness in this, but rather pity almost...and a firm resolve to hold ones ground against orations that once swayed that resoluteness.

I just finished reading an installment to Gene Williamson's Captain Jack Series, and this is the second time this morning that I have felt as though I were listening and watching something that wasn't meant for my ears and eyes. There is such a sadness to this...but, Axilea, you write it so beautifully!

Axilea,
Confessional tone and the stresses and repetitions make me feel I am
eavesdropping on something highly personal; cuts to the bone and the chase.
