(first of three pieces)

ONE - sun

Inkblot clouds
cover the sudden light,
the unexpected benevolent sun
that came late in the afternoon

The bright shapes perceived
leave prints that stay,
retinal persistence
behind closed eyelids

The noisy environment
of machine-city life
(jigsaw,
rotary drill,
shrill cry of stones)
is wrapped up
in chilling autumn cold
and vibrating jagged fate
is carried by the bleak wind

I can make the silence
come alive within me

The  branches of a strong lonely tree
unafraid of forever are
open wings with featherlike leaves
that hush
sirens going nowhere

Now urging
ghosts made of smoke
to speak their names,
truth surges

The bright spiky forms
of the sun behind the clouds
are baroque mirrors of essence revealed -
beautiful resistance
behind closed eyelids

This reminds me of my stay in the hospital. My roommate was noisy. All I wanted to do was sleep. I tried mind over matter, but ended up having to use ear plugs. The ending of this poem feels like an awakening of sorts. Love and Hugs,
Sheila

Metaphysical, meditative and trance like, Dimensions of Light is controlled at the will of the narrator, she can let the needed amount come in and let the excessive amount back out into chaos...she controls just how much noise and light she wants in the vision...muted and diffused...

Axilea,
To look into or beyond one's vision is a gift that no one can be blessed with unless it's within the realm of our imagination. God Bless, My Friend.

This is a dream one sees in color, though it's not mentioned anywhere. I especially love your tree... unafraid of forever... with feathery leaves saying shhhhhhhh... it reminds me of the big spruce tree next door. It'll be blue-green when there's snow up to our shin bones, and its branches make a bowl in the snow where none is allowed to get through because of the thickness of its shhhh-shhhhhh-shelter.

Autumn seems like it's in such a hurry to get here this year--the clouds scurrying across the sky, gray, but beautiful just the same. ...And when the sun hits those clouds just right, it's pure magic... ach, you say it much better. But it is magical, the colors that brighten--clarify--ready themselves for the eye when cloud shadows move across the land.

--gorgeous, Axilea. Can't wait for the rest. --Charlie

this is like a practical guide to a meditative state, Axilea; you make such things so down-to-earth and accessible! :)) Love the linkages between your thoughts and imagery. And especially your highlighted lines, which stand alone in tone and observation:

I can make the silence
come alive within me

yes, you can and you do. Very strong and compelling writing. xx

Sometimes we close our eyes to the Light/truth that we have seen, but even behind a cloud, it is always there...

Axilea- Enjoyed the vivid images that contrast:

The noisy environment
of machine-city life
(jigsaw,
rotary drill,
shrill cry of stones)

with,

I can make the silence
come alive within me
Especially like the concluding stanza and the suggested parallel of the sun behind clouds and the consciousness behind closed eyelids:

The bright spiky forms
of the sun behind the clouds
are baroque mirrors of essence revealed
beautiful resistance
behind closed eyelids
