 On A’s naked hand

tears fall: agony

look at B, she’s a real boy

the heart of a provider

/

provokes

another’s tears of joy:

C’s frail petite silhouette

aching to be

a woman

/

naked strength’s solitude

grown-up, full, A sees

him, D, genetically male

just an empty shell

she’ll survive

birthday irony!

Again, Axilea, you have us figuring and debating about ABCD and to me
it is like a mathamatical problem, but is there only one right answer?

Always,

If ABC&D are all one and the same individual, then no wonder A is crying out to be something whole. Somewhere, there are magic glasses that we can look through to see ourselves the way God sees us. I wonder what A would see... --Charlie

An interesting social interaction and assessment going on here, Axilea. Has all the considered poignancy and sense of timing that Harold Pinter has with a sense of emptiness being centre stage, even in the midst of personal tensions. Comfortable and uncomfortable in our own skins, I get a similar sensation reading this to how I feel when oggling fashion models who are supposed to tempt us and condition us with their ravaged, waspish looks. Are we longing for ideals or in pain that we can't conform to them? As always, intriguing and compelling in its intensity. xx

we have eyes to see hands to touch and hearts to reach out to another - within our individual perceptions we mold the paths that comfort us and shape destiny's grasp upon who we are -- being truthful with ourselves is paramount - whatever the reality of us is - this is terse and bursting with imagination and reflective of self perception - a marvelous rendering Axilea - I wish you love and peace my dear friend - Jon Michael

not so much a concern with gender as with attitudes
and perceptions, this short work, Axilea,
could well be the setting and bones of a plot
for a one-act Samuel Beckett play

I echo Odin, the frailty of all and their vulnerability.

Lovely and composed so nice

If only both genders could accept the other's frailty and vulnerability, this perfect formula of Mathematica/prosetry wisdom could cure many ailments of the inner self. Of course, I many be way off base as to the purpose of the poem, but for this reader, it's the power this piece possess to arrest one's idle wanderings of the mind and bring focus to survival's success and potentially the disarming of emotional and mental threats, making survival an unnecessary effort. As you already covered A,B,C,D, I'll give you an E for excellence.

"naked strength’s solitude

I have a feeling this is what the majority of women think about the male species in our society. No wonder it is difficult to find lasting romance.
