Along the Road to Acceptance

I've KNOWN for a long time that I have an eating disorder, but KNOWING and ACCEPTING are two different things. To begin the journey to wellness, one first knows. To recover, one accepts.

Acceptance that my eating
Is out of control,
That I do, indeed,
Have an eating disorder
Is written
On a fragile piece of paper;
But the rock of denial
Is holding it down.
Tonight I felt
The rock shudder,
Just a little.
Will it roll away
And free the paper
Before I am
Destroyed?

You are fighing bravely and embracing the healthier you. Not an easy battle, but you are strong and will succeed. God bless...

Rebecca, you are not alone, hang in there.

Becca, the first step in a journey to recovery is the one when we accept we need to move there, one foot at a time, as we shred denials in little bit pieces and throw them over our shoulder.
