It's a privilege and an honor to publicly read poetry written
by my dear friend Victoria McColley. In my 80th year, I think
it comfortable and fitting that I recite the earliest poem this
great artist shares with us in her postings on Authorsden.

Days of Old
I stumbled upon a chest
full of treasures gems and gold...
Locked within a loyal devotion
honoring the days of old...
I held the secure lock of promise
it opened within my hands...
In vows to love me forever
with royal servant commands...
I sat with my disbelief
how something so good to be true ...
Then a wave of realization whisked upon me
and it was then I knew...
I was looking at a treasure
of gems and gold upon this chest...
Belonging to another’s heart
from days of old that will not rest...
