My Earthly Father

He was forsaken by parrishioners and only had Mom to carry him through these rough times.

The last six months of his life, my Father faced a lot of strife.

He hallucinated about lights across the street and thought invading aliens with green feet had landed and Dad was stranded.

He paced the living room and dining room, too; Mom couldn’t settle him down and he didn’t wear shoes.

She heard him in the bathroom one night it seems spraying Lysol in his face; he thought it was shaving cream.

He could not stop walking to and fro and mumbling; Mom went to bed many nights grumbling.

That was six months of what she called hellatious and she knew Dad was not being mendacious;

he just couldn’t talk at all to tell her what was going on so she assumed he slept when really he was still walking at dawn.

It’s a pity that such should befall such a man who did not harm to others nor try to sham

anyone he ever met.  All loved him but they never bet

his life would end on July fourth after six months of walking floors

and having bad dreams all the time.  God took him when Dad was in his prime.

I know and understand that he’s now better off but I’m sure he would’ve loved one more round of golf.

Sorry I just got into this to give you my sympathy. He is loved and remembered forever and is now in a better place and in no pain and is playing golf with the angels. Time heals all and we all go through losing someone sooner or later and much too often. Oh that we could keep them here but would not if they suffered much. Truthfully told in this write.**********

Hard to write, I would assume. I can't write about my Dad yet, but I would like just one more opportunity to watch a football game with him, or hear him tell a bad joke or do just about anything.

I am sorry at your loss, George. Your father sounds like a complete jewel. The proud and gentle man is with his God now. Excellent. Liz

Sometimes I believe that within those six months, maybe, something that happened in the outside world, that now he couldn't understand, now being afflicted...was meant to be unfound by him! It could of been a tradgedy, or, a world event, a friends loss, I could go on and on...
I believe our God is a gracious God, and he knows what our best exit is...unfortunately, sometimes, those left behind, don't, at least not at first. . .and then, oneday, it does all makes sense. . .
Your write is sad, but it has that touch of reality, that makes it live. . .
Love and Peace~

I sometimes hope there will be golf courses in heaven.
And whitewater rivers upon which we might ride.
Sad story, true for so many, but know he is in a better place.

A loving tribute to your Father and your Mother.
The golf course in heaven (as I believe) is absolutely divine.

I am so sorry for your loss. My love and prayers are with you and your family.

God bless all of you,
Kathy

George it is sad to have to watch this happen to our loved ones but he is in a much better place now. God has His reasons for everything, we just don't know what those reasons are. Sorry for your loss, thank you for sharing.

Oh George,so very sad all that happened. You father surely suffered inside before God took him to see the shining light. I am sure he has been your guiding light.....

A sorrowful lament George! I'm sorry your father had to go through such a trial, yet it seems we all do one way or another have to suffer, before we leave this phase of our lives. He is in a better place...

How sad and I have witnessed others with these same symptoms and it takes a heavy toll on those that try to keep them from harming themselves, they are the true saints on earth, the caretakers.
