Stirred up a whole lot of controversy with this one, didn't you, Karen? That's good - gets us thinking. What ticks me off more than anything - our men and women in uniform are getting charged with war crimes for killing civilians, and yet, the extremists (notice I did not say all) use their own women, children, elderly, disabled as bombs - their goal is to take out as many infidels (non believers) as they can - so some innocents get in the way, oops - seems like it to me - so they can go to Paradise and be attended to by 77 virgins - what does a child know of that??? Thought provoking, in any event, if a loaded gun - well done.
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. |

And who is the self-appointed moral judge of the rest of the world, the nation that decides who should or shouldn't have naughty weapons of mass destruction????
The ONLY nation to have ever used one!
The nation sitting on the BIGGEST stockpile of WMD, with space technology geared to killing!
The NATION who regularly invades other nations and imposes its will ... in the name of freedom and overthrow of dictatorships!
The GREEDIEST slurper-upper of the world's limited resources.
The most aggressive big-business self-marketing corporation ever.
If the US is a democracy, when will a poor and honest man be elected president, instead of a string of millionaire big-businessmen. |

| What makes me mad is that what we term WMD'S is different from the UN. Talked to a Colonel personally. Let them kill each other off and stay away from our country. Maybe I should not say this but they can take the UN and put it someplace else. It is a farce and where is poor Margaret Hanson? |

This is a good poem Karen except, have you stopped to think that the Iraqi's are not doing anything that we in this country wouldn't do to defend ourselves against any invaders that would happen to do the same thing we did there.
I support the soldiers, although I support the efforts to bring them home. You talk about the person that was beheaded, as soon as he was taken, I knew he was going to die because he's Jewish. Did you also read the articles about the US planes straffing a wedding party in the desert? Or how about the mistreated prisoners? For every act of sabotage against us, how many Iraqi have died senselessly? How many women and children have died that never did anything to anyone? How many will have to die from the Uranium tipped missles we fired on on Iraq? Isn't that WMD? For Centuries, there will be a higher incident of cancer and birth defects in the Middle East then in almost anywhere else in the world except Chernoble... |

| You are more right than wrong. I love your take. A very realistic one to be sure and one that is steeped in truth. To all of the Jim Dunlaps of the world: Those brave soldiers are fighting for your misguided selfs to spout off insanity also. Very good, honest prose, Karen Gallo Dunn. |

| An innocent man -- there to help rebuild a country's communications -- slain in a torturous manner. We can't shift the blame to anyone but the evil terrorists who committed the crime. I think we'll never understand the mindset of the terrorists and that may be the biggest problem in all this conflict. Irregardless of where anyone stands on the president, the war, other political issues -- we must be horrified by this innocent man's slaughter and the suffering he endured. God be with his family. |

| Yes, but why are the American people to blind to see that the real culprit is Dubya and nobody else. No Americans would be dying over there if it weren't for him and his cold-blooded VP. People who have never been in wars are always the ones who want to start one. Americans are too dumb to see that. What's wrong with the U.S.? Isn't there a person in the country in a position of power who can see beyond the end of his/ her nose? |
