The whispering breeze pants on the leaves, and dies upon the trees - Pope

I feel the living presence of the trees
Stand high beneath the moonlit sky
I see their shapely shadows tall
Across the green where they fall
When the Queen of night is high!

As a shelter for lovers comfort
Nesting birds among their boughs
Branching arms that hold the light
As evening changes to the night
And spreads its shade for me now!

If myself a breathing tree
With a babbling brook nearby
On grassy slopes running steep
Strong roots run long and deep
So I can drink when I am dry!

Before night falls silently

And it spell has lost its power

Before the lush green tableau fades
And the traffics roar invades
A distant clock strikes the hour!

Live imagery and vivid depicting... "Trees" strikes the dynamo of symbolism and creates a learning desire. Knowledge and beauty mingle with art, and a scented poetic flower is delivered.

I salute You, Poet.
