Certainty may be a blind spot in our lives; our assumptions that something must 'just be so' can be so wrong, so wrong... |
|
Certain knowledge does not lie
Within the grasp of men,
Life is grown on shifting ground;
A house built on the sand.
When knowledge fails, there remains
Not despair, nor death, but faith,
It strength is drawn from deeper wells –
Our need for love, hope and grace.
Alongside faith, welcome doubt –
Faith’s handmaid, God’s freest gift;
Earth’s children blessed, given time
To learn humility.
For – I have not God’s powers, nor
Possessed of certain truth
Life’s credo, hanging in suspense -
“I am here – I can be moved.”
