This poem was written for all women who leave their country of birth to come here to marry an American man, as my wife Terry did. Imagine if you will, leaving all that is familiar to you, as well as all your friends and family and coming to a land that you don't know and to a husband to be, that you really don't know well either, and being expected to learn a new language, a new way of living, new foods, and fit into a society that is strange to you and be a good wife. You might find it very difficult. This was written for Terry and her new Chosen Sisters that she found waiting for her, Vie and Mercy. |

We each grew up in a different place. We each grew up with a different face. We never played together when small. We didn't know each other at all.
We didn't choose our family's you see. We were each where we were supposed to be. Each with our own Sisters and Brothers. Each with our dear Fathers and Mothers.
We didn't know of God's plans for our lives, To go to a foreign land to become loving wives. Leaving behind our own Families and Friends, We arrived in a place of unfamiliar winds.
As time passed, we found our surroundings just great. Occasionally though a girl needs more than just her mate. For girl talk, shopping, listening and other stuff. Being without a best Friend or Sister is sure rough.
But God already knew about this in our life. He said, no need for worry with such strife. I've place all of you very close in this new land. You can be Friends and give each other a helping hand.
As time passed, our new friendships grew and grew. The lonely feelings we once had are now very few. Along with our loving Husbands, we are now Mrs. and Misters. We have new best Friends and our very own Chosen Sisters.
