August just won't leave the Fall alone

Here It is

Ah! Here it is! August!
the end is near, the end
of sunburn, mosquitoes,
rolling sweat.

unyielding fortitude fuels
your bloody fire. Painfully
slow in leaving, you want
to claim the entire year,

let autumn in, hot papa,
pour out your mint julep,
cool your heels and
let me have my Autumn;

stop pushing into September;
sneaking as far as October who’ll
send you off in a final flame
of burning leaves and a starry nip.

I like this one Kathy, it has such nice vivid images and I can almost feel the cool air of fall.
