You always thought of yourself

And you wondered how we

Would affect you in the little

World you call life.

You talked of color to us,

Gray was non-existent.

Only black and white

Breathed life in your world.

You put us on a pedestal,

Making it big enough

To fit in your world.

You made us god like.

We could do no wrong.

The pool was no exception.

We had fun, yes.

Singing, dancing, and hanging out

As our teenage way of life

Played out.  The warm breeze

Invited us to take a dip.

It was like a baptism where

I went in as a demi

And came out a goddess,

A parent like figure.

Created to nurture and be perfect.

I was perfect on that pedestal,

The pedestal you created.

Yes, perfect.  A perfect parent.

And yet, why is it that

You are allowed to be a child.

Well written. It leaves me with lots of thoughts to ponder, I like that.

I like how you deliver this, the pith and significance of the repetitions stressing the motif...and I like where it takes me.

Your poem gives me pause for reflection, Kimberley; particularly since many people constantly tell me that I "never grew up." Love and peace to you,
