Softly dying, dying, the leaves hanging on the trees, barely hanging on by a stem. Gently falling, falling, the leaves giving up their souls, to collect sadly at my feet. There am I, crying, crying, at the senseless sacrifice of Fall, seeing death wearing bright colors.

The leaves are the dress coming off. If you took a limb of the treee and cut it off, as it died the leaves would stay on the tree even in death they remain attached because it was killed before it's time. When it's time to change the season the leaves depart the tree and actually fall to die. The tree sleeps while it's new pregnancy ,in spring ,brings about new birth. Think of Fall as the cycle complete of trees. Their time comes again, sweet Karla.
Love,
Susan |

Such sadness Karla, in the beauty and color of the leaves...a metaphoric gem as the earth recycles her own spendor to guarantee another Fall.

Because, in the end Karla; we are like the leaves here. The difference is that we never die and I'm not so sure the leaves actually "die" either. I mean. They give life to what grows and become part of that. Girl, you got me thinking here. Thanks for this. Love and peace,
Regis |

Karla,
I feel a sense of sadness too when the leaves fall, but I am glad that they come back in the spring. A beautiful write, keep on soaring with the eagles! Your writing has really taken off to incredible levels, and I am honored to read and review your works of art! BRAVA, Karla!

I sometimes feel a bit sad too when the leaves fall but I must remember that the earth is reborn again in the spring with vibrant new life. The bible says that we have an appointed time to live and an appointed time to die...our days are numbered, but the glorious thing is, just as the trees bring forth new life in the spring, so will new life spring forth for us in that glorious city called Heaven someday. Beautiful write my dear friend, makes one stop and appreciate their days here on our borrowed home.
Blessings,

BEautiful reflections but I think and believe that it is a necessary sacrifice like the soldiers who fight and die so future generations will survive...so too the leaf.

Tis not a senseless sacrifice, sweet Karla. Dry, dry your tears. The leaves had lived their given life, and now must fertilize the ground, somewhere. As a beautiful leave they will no longer be, but alas, dear lady, they will help in the birth and growth of other plants and other leaves. Just like the human life...we are here for a given time, and then we too must depart. Those coming behind will take our place...and so the cycle repeats. So, dry, dry those tears and let that gorgeous smile replace the sadness that you feel. What must be, must be. :) Having said all that, you have penned a precious poem...with deep meaning. Thank you.
God Bless
LOL
