Karen still in hospital. Yesterday, she had a colostomy and a mass removed from the uterine wall (does NOT appear to be cancerous). Very weak; weighs less than 100 pounds. She will be getting TPN (nourishment) through a PICK line; maybe we can get her strength built back up so we can get OUT of here! Three weeks, three days...don't know how much longer. Been with her the whole time, I'm tired. That's why you haven't seen me.
Sorry I haven't been around, I miss you all (as does Karen), thank you for the prayers. Please, keep them coming. They are the only things getting us through.
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

laying in a bed of pain, covered by sheets of misery,
i try to rest.
time slows down to a crawl; to intervals timed by Morphine shots,
brought by nurses.
moments of lucidity blend into a haze of confusion that medication brings,
as the days pass.
NG tubes/IV lines wrap themselves around me, keeping me alive...
or so they think.
the only thing keeping me going is the infusion of prayer being fed into my veins.
yes. that's the reason.
a transfusion of love sustaining me and my twin upon my sickbed and time away from you.
we miss you so much!

Since I was missing awhile myself, post-op, I didn't realize anything was wrong with Karen. I just noticed you didn't seem to be posting lately. I will be praying for both of you.
Your poem is a real gem, beautifully written. It is truly the combination of medicine and God's grace that heals. You are both very special to all of us. Keep looking up and we will keep holding you up in prayer!

And as you say, prayers will strengthen the soul. Keep her optimistic. That's half a battle won. Assure her of my prayers to both of you. Victor |

Karla, you sit beside your other half~ your sister, with this situation placed before you both, remember, sit easy upon it, for your knowledge increases...along with humility, it will promote a stonger faith and love, and work out for you, a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory! You just being pruned Karen, to be more fruitful~LOL!

| Your Storms and Tornados are in our hearts, Karla. Indeed, you both have been missed, thought much about and prayed over. Thank you for this poetic update. You are so lucky to have each other and Karen must be drawing on your strength right now. And we, in turn, uphold YOU! :)) God be with you, Angels. This soooo takes me back to a few valleys that I myself have trodden. There is no day or night... just time passing like an IV infusion. May the pair of you who have done so much to succour and strengthen us all in our times of need know of the mighty wings o'erspread to keep you sailing on through these traumatic days. I, too, can testify to the uplifting and transporting power of prayer. You WILL get through this. Love to you both, and especially Karen who has written so often about such trauma as this happening in the lives of others. Bless you richly. Peace to you, as well as love strength and hope. LOL K xx |

Sending you half of my best wishes, Karla, the other half goes to your special K twin, Karen. When I first arrived on the den in July 2005 you and Karen Lynn greeted me with no bias. The many reviews that the two of you have given on my behalf mean a great deal to me, The Lady of Lights, aka The Storm Spinner and The Texas Tornado have left an imprint in my heart and I admire your twin spirits. Give Karen Lynn a hug for Sweetwater. I share with you both a cup of pagan wassail this Yuletide...Blessed Be...
