A study in frozen motion,
life outside the door.  Frosted lines
of poetry, penned in rime on
all surfaces.  Winter etches
with a skilled, detailed hand - to write
like this.  Too bad the words won't last ...

your words will endure longer than the ice in the photograph Karla --what a beautiful picture, it captures the essence of winter's grip on nature -- and your poem, just absolutely lovely -- peace, great joy and love to you my dear friend -- JMW

Ahhh... but the do last in the words penned by lovely poets as yourself. And to this Florida chick, poetry and greeting cards are the place I like snow and ice the best! Fine job. Hugs, Kathy

The photo is superb! The pristine beauty that comes with being frozen in time is incredible. Your words are also superb! I loved the lines, "Frosted lines of poetry, penned in rime..."

It is beautiful, but it's been this way a long time outside my door - and right now, I'm glad it won't last forever.

Brilliant analogy, Karla, and your words this way will always endure in a most beautiful permafrost on the windows of the soul and doorsteps of the mind. Fabulous captures by a multi-media artist's eye. :)) xx

I love this write but disagree with the last line Karla, for the wonder of winter (at least to me) is that no matter how cold it gets, how much snow gets piled up, and how we long for spring...when summer comes along we only remember the beauty of the first soft snow flakes, the sweet crispness of frost under feet and the beautiful pictures of the icy images you just drew with your words.
