War has always made widows out
of women and orphans out of
children.  But it's a price some are
willing to pay to keep us free.

To those that gave the ultimate
sacrifice, I remember.

War has always been hell:  just ask
those that came home, injured in
body and in mind.  They know ...
they live with it every single day.

To those who've ever donned the
uniform, I thank and honor you.

And to the ones that were spit on,
yelled at, verbally and sometimes
physically abused, let me welcome
you home with the hugs you didn't get.

We owe those who've served a debt
that can never be repaid.

Lest we forget ...

My big, strong Daddy, Donald Vidra
His brothers:  Clarence, Andrew, Joe, and Steve Vidra
My Mom's brother, George Srdjak
MY brother, Ken Vidra
My cousins ...

How can I not remember?

You paved the way for my own service.
You are my heroes, and I love and miss you.

Karla,

A wonderful tribute to the troops and the ones in your family that contributed to the cause. My father did not die in the war, but was shot in the back and could never walk right again. This was in World War II, he loved this country so much, his injury to him was a small price for helping this country free.
