Happy BOO! Day!

Image (c) 2008, Karla Dorman

Your face is as pallid as
the parchment I scratch
these words on; your
eyes are black pools of
terror, reflecting my own
bloodless visage back
at me.

Now that our hearts are
beating once more, I
notice your hands rattle
like bones (as do mine)
--- the things we saw!
Never again.  I say this
every year.

To the guy I smacked in
the face when he grabbed
my foot and to the kids I
ran over in my hurry to
get out of there as fast as
my legs and cane would
go, I'm sorry:

haunted houses not meant
for the weak.  Or stupid.

(c) 2009, Karla Dorman (10/30)

Great write, Karla. However, what is there to fear but fear itself?
"Yea, tho I walk through the valley of death, I shall fear no evil.."
And I know very well that you're a true believer, my friend.
So, tell me again, what was there to be 'afeared' of?
Absolutely nothing! ;-) God bless.

Haunted House? say, inside the bushes a big speaker waiting for the brats to come, push the bell button, and hear coming from the bushes a blood curling scream of way up decibels...can't give your candy away! nobody's there!!!
