| ... Sounds like a fairytale: Babes In The Wood or all those others with Wicked Stepmothers and Unscrupulous Uncles. Or a bit Kipling, like Mowgli's Jungle. Unlike this tale, though, most tragic heroines seem to survive in Brothers Grimm, dramatically released by some KISA (Knight In Shining Armour!), but looks like the Grimm Brothers possibly thought they'd won the day here... Yet in her "surrender" was escape. I would like to think she was simply translated, like a character from one of Ovid's Metamorphoses. The spirits of children always go on to grow elsewhere, leaving their magic behind. Enchanting, Jude. TY K xx |
