~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My body senses what my mind yet has to register,
Call it gut instinct or simply an eerie sense of calm
Moonbeams reveal a vaporous presence
Swaying to the beat of a broken branch
Its light precariously dangles before my thoughts
Over the cryptic narration of a abundantly windy terrain
Its atmosphere is ubiquitous
Even while traversing its nothingness,
The motif of my temperament
Conceives its variance of plot
Like in an unfinished book
Written without a storyline,
I endeavor
To free myself from bibliography or its reference
Perhaps one of the blank pages
Foreshadows the coming events
I have passed over
Perhaps the origin of my words
Yearns to be pressed firmly
Into the ink of reflection,
Where clarity surrenders its influence
To the power of idea,
Absorbing fibers
Layered along the pulp of my being
The hair on my neck is raised
Electrical, static charged
And it’s time for me to run
And keep running
Through the binding
Holding me together
Shouting “no can be truly free while standing still”
Reminding me where I came from
And how long it will take to arrive
Much to think about; much to reflect upon. Your words gracefully project themselves into our minds. Beautiful words...almost inciting, but definately exciting!.
Powerful and enthusiastically written piece moving forward at high speed. A little time out for the world to catch up seems to be needed, what a fantastic write....
Hey Jude, I like the last three stanzas, and the closure of your last two lines. For me, you capture the feeling of stagnation, as in when we first awake. Then we have "to run" to get ourselves going and get the day started. Wow, my brain hurts from thinking. Thanks, Kathy
As always, the author will twiested even more our labyrintic brain streets in search of those thoughts we haven't got the courage to confront.
Jude, you have a dangerous pen, and even more dangerous Muse.
It rather sounds like you are already there; put your mind into park and set the break, everything else will catch up and the new reality will be yours. You have done a great job at creating a sense of forward motion in this piece.
Take care,
Sherry
