at times, the voices speaking to me

are barely audible

rarely sharing an intimate tone

or authentic syllable

relating distant sounds

resounding dreams’ psychobabble,

echoing cavernous outgrowths

traversed by indiscernible, lost explorers …

at times, the guts of expression

reflect contours of broken mirrors

and rippling currents of stormy seas

seen only in the eye of a distant beholder,

flowing erratically, tempestuous

spotlights of vacant gurgle

This is so mysterious and haunting. Like a dream falling away. Nicely penned, Jude.

yes the 'gurgles' play there tricks and we relay the psychobabble...
Great pen!

just like dreams Robert, even when we're awake the mind plays tricks, puts out a lot of babble. Some people seprate their babble from their good thoughts and conversation but have you ever noticed, some let it come right out their mouth, and you either want to slap them or retreat before anymore foolishness spurts out, at times I get to babbling in my verse, then I say, no I can't write that.

At times the psychobabble can be inspiring. And then there's the rest of the time.

Listen to the Whispers! ...even if you have to yell and scream at everything that keeps you from hearing, Jude! :) HEY!!! How are you!?
I've been in the "gurgle" I can relate!
Love your pen!

And those are probably the ones we need to hear the most.

There are often times, usually in the middle of a sleepless night, where I, too, hear those "gurgles."

Jude - Enjoyed reading "gurgle," attention grabbing title. Especially liked the way you used near rhymes i.e., audible ... syllable ... psychobabble, and explorers ... mirrors ... beholder. Liked the physical images, too, especially liked,

at times, the guts of expression

reflect contours of broken mirrors

So that's where you get the fantasma--you hear voices! Gurgles only come at death or from babies... which one is this? Great lines, like,'contours of broken mirrors,' as usual.

Such precise analysis here of undefined entities of "white noise" and intuitive/arcane mystery. Love the way this seeks to focus both inwards and outwards, searching and flowing along avenues that are deeply personal/visceral as well as distant and far-reaching. I can't help making the comparison in my mind of your final couplet - with its erratic, chaotic, haphazard gurgle - with the Christian scriptures which speak of God bringing creational order through purposeful spoken Word. And I can heartily appreciate the "babbling" wavelengths and vibrations at the moment, too, focussing as I have been on Annette Messager's "The Messengers" art exhibition which features, extraordinarily enough, items used in your imagery here: ESP indeed! :)) xx

I like this as it seems the voices that speak to all of us all sometimes have their own little "gurgle" that only apply to us.

Is the writer victim or beneficiary of the gurgle.
I opt for the latter, Jude, as you demonstrate here
once again. -gene.

Perhaps your receptors are not as open to the truth as you think they are, Jude. You are still allowing the conflicting conversations of question to cloud your experiences. Let go of that which does not come from within, drop the surrounding spin and clarity will come to you. It took a few reads for me to actually grasp the soul of this poem, but after sleeping on it and reading it again, it became clear. Good work!
Take care,
Sherry

Written like it was from the fly in the wall, a third person, an observer, detached and yet, like it was experienced before.
Difficult to see if the poet is trying for us to gurgle or if he's the gurglee...

Lately and at times, I have been having insomnia, I cannot sleep because of all of the messages I am hearing and the energy I am feeling keep me from sleeping.
Saturday night at 4 am I finally fell asleep! Gurgling sounds of distant tempestuous feelings all over my mind, are you reading it? I feel closely connected to this poem Jude, as if you have ESP and are hearing my thoughts..wow quite awesome actually, I am the one that usually is hearing other people's thoughts and feeling their energy.
This poem brings many images to my mind, but the most vivid is like Sage said, messages from the Universe at work here. Go with it, you are on your way to your destiny!

Much peace, love, and light, dear friend,

thank god that this is only "at times"... but dear me: the dearth, the dearth... in a Brando-like gutterance from some Apocalypse Yet set, the monotone delivery is everything... and yet, methinks if I ramble on enough I myself may fall victim to the scathing satiric invective laced in the lines of this distant verse.

Gurgle is a follow-up of opposition. Your astral body has not cut the cord yet to the shell of your physical body, noting that a great many spirit mediums receive their "spirit messages" by means of poltergeist like gurgles, raps, knocks, thumping steps, ringing doorbells and whisper voices as telepathic messages. Etheric objects exist in psychic space and can be projected by means of ESP while carrying it with full consciousness.

"relating distant sounds

resounding in dreams’ psychobabble,"

and...then this first couplet, has intriguing value for me as it pertains to "automatism" which is "automatic writing" - trance speech and "spirit writing" when the message is written backwards, in anagrams or mirror style, or a planchette with a pencil holder like a pointer in a ouija board...placed under the medium's hand, resting on a polished surface bearing the letters of the alphabet.

"at times, voices writing

are barely audible or even visible"

Your last few poems have been clairvoyant categorized, Jude...these are messenger times for you...you're being instructed on the astral plane by spirit guides...have your ears been having a ringing tone, especially your right ear? Hearin aum, the musical tones of violins in your head...if so, a crystal quartz prism can pick up the messages...

Love,
Sage
