There is a big difference between alone and lonely, which is something that many don't seem to understand. As long as we are at peace with our self, our spirit and our beliefs, we understand that we never truly walk alone; we can feel the presence and thoughts of others with us, always. If we each knew how many people really do love us, I think we would be pleasantly surprised. Nice job, Jude.
Take care,
Sherry

I love reading your poems and everyone's reviews. They all have a different view or understanding their own way...but the same time they think similar ways... Anyway, in my opinion the main word in your poem is 'Nothing' and your thought evolves around 'nothingness...'
BTW Jude, since you mentioned shadows, in reality, not in a dream or imagination, when I close my eyes at night, I see those dark shadowy people appearing from left corner of my eye and walking towards the center of my vision then turn away from me and dissappear. Can someone explain that to me...?

Now, THIS one catches a wee barb of loneliness somewhere for me, Kartero: I noted that the Board was a bit hung over "grasping on air" in that respect, whereas I saw nothing but positivity. But here... I dunno. Solitude is a choice we isolates make and revel in, but there is also that one thing that can create a sudden yawn of "aloneness" in our hearts and that is when a presence like our own soul ghosts across our path - then is gone again, as you say, in a blink of an eye. Like the tensions between the reality of physical nearnesses versus the figment of physical disembodiment. And I love this "shadow" figure which intrigues: does its presence create the confusion or bring about the clarity, leaving it behind as a gift as it goes? Pairing this in my mind with "grasping on air", guess I'm still working with the phantom/fathom ideas: I see it as perhaps a metaphor for the thought-processes involved in problem-solving: for me it begs the question, are our brains "possessed" by the need to problem-solve or indeed do the thoughts "possess us" until they work themselves out? Whatever, there feels to me to be a strong mutuality and co-operation betwixt observer and the observed. Another goody that's been waiting in the wings for its chance to come centre stage! rubiKsKube Kate xx

I like this a lot Jude, how often do we feel a presence, a source of energy or even just a sense that we are not alone. Often it is just a fleeting second than erased from our minds as if some power does not want us to cross into forbidden shadows...

It's like when you go to bed,as soon as you close your eyes there are images of unknown faces surrounding you, when you open your eyes they are gone, close them they're back again. I have come to believe that we are always surrounded by people who have passed into various levels of existence, and if only we tried harder we could communicate with them.perhaps fear of the unknown makes us too tentative... anyway, that's what your poem brings to mind...you have a way of bringing clarity to subjects such as this. methinks enlightened minds are always engaged in learning new mwthods of communication, and we should keep seeking ways to improve it.

Jude, often times I read your poetry, and I smile a little...it's as though you've stepped into my mind and have the ability to write what I think. Nothing really is what it seems to be, is it? Some say that we're limited in what it is we can see and understand....for now, yes...but I think we have the ability to see and DO so much more...it's doubt and weakness that hold us back. Sorry if I'm rambling...this just made me think...but then, that's always a good thing.

The human body is essentially just a sophisticated computer system. It reacts to input (percepton)o the outside world. Our senses are limited and we view the cosmos through a straw. Everything we perceive is in an extremely small spectrum of reality called "visible light", which vibrates at a very low frequency. So yes, I agree, nothing is what it seems or pretends to be because we are simply not capable of perceiving it on more than a finite, miniscule level. Like ants contemplating skyscrapers. Good one Jude.

I feel the same, I get glimmers of hope through visions during meditations or just quiet times. It's almost within your grasp, like a dangling carrot, the clarity wants to be there, but it's not quite the right time yet. As Sage says, 2012 is quickly approaching, all those who are asleep now, will definitely be asleep then. Not you, Jude, you are a leader of lightness and a mind to be recognized as that time approaches. Let there be light, let there be peace, let there be complete love for all that sees!
Come join me in the army of lightworkers and be free.
Namaste, dear friend,
