An Army Of Angels

I hear the beckoning, a call in the wild
I must venture out as though exiled
Donít be concerned, donít chastise me
An army of angels is summoning me

I may wander aimlessly but not alone
Away from the safety of hearth and home
The breeze of angelsí wings on my face
My only protection is their loving grace

We spend a while, my family and friends
I may cry or smile or even make amends
I return again and again just because I can
Though I donít understand my makerís plan

Grasping at a light touch in my hand
Slipping through my fingers like fine, dry sand
Time to return to a world thatís colder
With an angelís wing across my shoulders

So nice a write. Angels are with us when we are unaware of them even.

Without a doubt, this has to be one of my favorites. I know His angels watch over us and guide our footsteps. How else could we have survived all our trials?

The photo is a great addition to the poem. You always choose such great pictures.

I love you. God bless you. Kathy

This is so beautiful, RaeLynn. I believe that Angels do exist and I'm sure there's a special one for you. They are there to protect no matter where life takes you. And that heavenly photo... beautiful!

Dreamy landscape of loss and heartache but one of hope and a knowledge that you are not alone, even if it is only the angels in your soul and heart or the friends heard but never seen...there is a reason for it all.
