Helping out during the last few weeks of a difficult pregnancy for my daughter-in-law, I am far from home with limited computer access.  But my emotions are running high.

A Tiny Handprint

A tiny handprint on the glass

Proof of life of a child now past

So many before I had washed away

But I knew forever this one would stay

It was years before that glass did break

Shattering the vision I’d worked so hard to make

Of my little boy with hands pressed to glass

My only prayer was that my memories would last

So many years have dulled the pain

Life moves forward; heartache wanes

As Grammy watches her latest addition

Hands pressed to glass, my heart transitions

The love buried deep for so many years

Bubbles to the surface erupting in tears

My little grandson, growing so fast

Leaves a tiny handprint on the glass
