about me

Please dont pigeon hole me
I cannot fit neatly into one of your little boxes
I am much deeper than you will ever know
all you know of me is the shell you see and the tiny piece of my spirit that I have allowed you to see
You cannot see into me so don't presume you can
You don't understand my reverence for nature that comes from my Native American heritage
my endless joy as I watch my grandchildren grow
you don't know me
You cannot feel my pain for the state of humanity
You will never know how I cry for the oxygen giving triple canopy rain forrest that is dissapearing or undestand why we will suffocate from it's loss
You cannot understand me
You ask, after seeing a tiny bit of my sensitivity and understanding, why don't you come to my church....we would love to have you ....I'll just bet you would
Why should I sit and listen to someone else's opinion when I have my own?
Your Dogma ran over my Karma
God does not live in a church
God lives in my soul, in my spirit, and in the mountains
In the Bible, when someone wanted to be close to God, did they go the beach?
Some day I will share the story of the time God slapped me in the face when I was alone on a mountain top
you cannot understand how my spirit soared when I saw my angel
Please don't pigeon hole me†

(For the story about being slapped in the face by God, see....)

This is a very intensely emotional poem Walt. It is also very introspective. Written with emotion that comes only from the soul. An excellent poem. Jon Michael Willey

How deeply I can relate to this poem, this touched my heart Walt and I could not agree more with your thoughts.

An emphatic expression of self-definition... "I'm Just Me....Don't You See?";
and that is the root of the word education, which comes from five Latin words meaning: "THE ACTION OF ACTING SELFDIRECTED".

I have emjoyed the reading of "I'm Just Me....Don't You See?".

I salute You, Poet.

In admiration,

Excellence. Fine words Walt, I can't imagine you fitting in a sterotype anyway...If I could get away with a label(not that I would be brave enough to say out loud...) Perfect individual...would be shouted out...Over my shoulder, and I would mean well...running away...God Bless you right where you are ... today...Jen

Great write, Walt.

We are never alone. God is everywhere.

A good lesson for us all not to make snap judgments on others, or any judgments at all as to who they are inside.

Let the wind blow and feel the presence of God on your face.

I agree...God lives in the our souls, in the mountains, in the wind that blows, in the wings of a butterfly or delicate rose petal. Amazing write, my friend. Outstanding!

Many blessings,

I am thankful each day that My Karma ran over their Dogma in fact I backed up and made another pass just to make sure it was squashed. Can't wait to read what you were doing that God had to wake you up from. Look forward to it. Lady J

Like how your denouement is the same as your first line in this write: "Please don't pigeon hole me"

I agree with your contention too - it is far too easy to stereotype everything, and everyone, without understanding anything.
I enjoy reading a writer with deep conviction. Welcome to AD!

I won't and I can't think of anyone in their right mind who would dare do that to a spirit as rich as yours. I will say that here at AD you'll meet many people like yourself for poets have more passion for nature and the spirit of the individual than any group of people I've ever met. You fit here. do!
Thanks for coming into the circle of creativity that enriches man. We need you here.
