Pushed to the edge of extinction, I was only saved because I am a "National Symbol."

On currents of the air I soar,
Above all earthly strife and war.
This is not a dream, I clearly see,
The changing of humanity.
For eons above it all I've soared.
Mankinds fury against each other I've seen roar.

But my fellow creatures great and small,
Can not soar above it all.
Carbon dioxide, pesticides, herbicides, genetic manipulations,
Will be the end of all the nations.
I hope that you all do get my gist,
For mankind himself does now sit,
Upon the "Endangered Species" list.

Perceptions. If we could all correctly relate and share them? Above the mundane we soar to gain a perspective not seen down among the trees of the forest. Excellent Walt. JonMichael Willey

The bald eagle is indeed a magnificent bird. We are fortunate here that they are very common. As I cycle by the river most days, I have to be carefull not to get "dumped" on because they perch in the trees along the road waiting for the dead salmon to feed upon. Nicely done, Walt. Thank you. Love and peace,

I wonder if saving the Eagle, which is a wonderful thing for all creatures are sacred, and letting mankind go would be the best thing of all. We're the dangeous ones on this earth.

Well written piece, Walt.

At least somebody have saved the American symbol if not its reputation. Maybe we need to put the American way of Life in the Edge of Extinction List to challenge someone to come an save it.
Our politicians are doing their best to take us out altogether.

Oh, so true. We seldom think of ourselves on that endangered species list, but at the rate our 'leaders' are making changes - we'll soon be replaced by robots. ;(
