She is damaged goods with emotional and physical scars,
Of abuse endured during her formative years.
She is a beautiful young woman everyone says,
Inside though is a tortured soul.
Now she seeks approval by dancing.
If you can call it that.
For a pretty girl the money is good,
The constant adoration of the patrons,
Marriage proposals,
Still inside the emptiness.
Money, drugs and the "Fast Lane" life,
Distract for a while.
Self esteem is non-existent.
Times not blurred by a drug and alcohol fog,
Are spent in fear and self loathing.
For she too cannot say no,
From different roots this malady came.
With a paralyzing inability to make a decision,
She allows others to control her life.
She swears some day this cycle will end,
But not holding her breath,
Till that day comes.

I've seen this more times then I wish I had and it is always such a shame. The lucky ones make it past this and have really good lives. To many are lost to it and never do they survive. A sad write my friend and I hope it's not to personal a friend you write about. LadyJ

Reality. This girl could have been me. Instead, I subscribed to the wolves, dancing in the medicine circle. Nature is the only thing that will heal a woman's soul...men and women alike respect nature as a healer and teacher..Her Torture is awakening poetry, Walt...Blessed Be.
