Merry Christmas Eve

It all flooded in on Christmas Eve

How can you stand there
And tell us all
How good you feel?
How leaving was the best thing you could do
How?

Everything we felt
Everything we said was important
The lives we created, the life we made
The way said we always wanted it to be

An old man, an old woman there too
Holding on
Holding hands
Watching the sunset, watching the lives

The ones we made
We'd never trade
All of it is nothing?
Was it all so easy to cast away?

When you see them now
See me
Is it all just a fading memory, not real?
Was it really that easy?

Could you break us all
And feel not a thing?
Is it as easy as you make it seem?

What happened?
One day it was
The next it isn't
Can it be so nothing
That you can just look the other way?

I gave my all
I could not have done more
They know I did the best i could
As you age, they will withdraw
The bed must be comfortable

As you lay there
Calling. Dying. No one will come.
Tears to shed,
But will they?
Will they be able?
Will they look at you with anything other than disgust?
Buy their love now.

It's all you can do
