Divide and conquer
Were the words I heard in my head.
I knew in my heart
It was a warning for you and me.
But I never thought it would come to be.

We were together so I knew everything would be all right.
Nothing could come between us cause we were so tight.
I never expected you to walk away.
And I look for you to come back every day.

Maybe it would be easier if you had found someone else.
But all you said was this is for the best.
How can it be when your best friend walks away?
How do you go on when you have a big hole where your heart used to stay?
How can you let it rest
When youíre constantly praying please let this just be a test?

Divide and conquer
Were the words I heard in my head.
I knew in my heart
It was a warning for you and me
I guess we just didnít take it seriously
Weíre no longer where we used to be
Cause its no longer you plus me.
