TIME LEFT WITH YOU

I feel as if I am watching a movie

and someone has pushed the switch to speed it up,

making it go by faster.

I keep screaming for them to slow it down,

it is going too fast,

too fast for me to grab all that I can,

before the film runs out.

Life won't let me back it up and go through it all again,

so I have to reach out and

snatch the pieces that can't get away from me,

but they are so small,

they slip right through my fingers.

don't leave me.

Especially when goodbyes come unexpectedly...
trying to hold sand in an hourglass doesn't work, but oh... that it would...

Saying goodbye is never easy. We try to save the good parts and forget the bad, which comes in the same bag. I like this write. It's thought-provoking.
