We have so many places to be proud of in the USA. Perhaps some will consider seeing "Tennessee" after reading this poem. You might even fall in love with this State, the way I did !
Your majestic mountains so proud
with waterfalls free and loud.
Rivers flow in each direction,
showing us your reflection.
You remind us of what it means,
to walk in rocky streams.
Or watch an eagle soar so free,
in a place of pride and history.
In your land a music was born,
from country life, twas torn.
Filled with pain and tribulation,
love, hope and tradition.
From flat land to hills of rising height...
and valleys that delight,
With lakes and caves and skys of blue--
Tennessee, humbles you.

Tennessee comes calling in musical verse; well done! Been there several times, and it is a beautiful place to visit and live. Wouldn't mind living there, myself. :)

|Thank you for this poem Jane. It paints a lovely picture of Tennessee. It is my dream to one day make it to your country and maybe to your lovely Tennessee.

|You are so right, Jane, Tennessee is a beautiful place and the people there are some of the nicest I have ever met. Have you ever heard the song "Tennessee" by Mindy Smith? If not, look her up on the net and take a listen. She moved to Tennessee after living most of her life in New York...she fell in love with the State and tells about it in her song...She does the State proud with her beautiful voice, and the mood of the song is as peaceful and sweet as Tennessee, herself.
