The windswept sands

disperse my thoughts
Of what once was gained
But now is lost.

The sky, the sand,
the sea, the sun,
My soul cries out,
My will undone.

Her form moves before me,
Within the waves,
A beautiful, dim,
and false display.

Towards me she moves,
and then away,
To leave me here
in my dismay.

What we had
I cannot restore
My dreams sink slowly,
to the ocean floor.
