I am the street poet
I come from out the crooked cracks of pavement
dirty sidewalks
lies and spit
dried blood stains that still drip and drip
Hookers walk the asphalt spine
3-inch heel rhythm note
stone heart get ready for a stroke
cause I am the street poet
Mean streets give birth to me
the urban city life's a bitch ghetto life
the labor pains cause earthquakes
and makes the streets rumble and crumble
thick slabs of cement strain to push me out
sweat and tears flood alleys and drown
junkies shoot'in up
cause I am a difficult birth
the blood pressure rises
and the concrete vagina
opens up
amd I slide out
saturated with liquor and urine
I slide out with words that tell stories
I slide out rappin and rhymin
I slide out among the broken glass and filth
among the pungent odor of poverty and crime
I am the street poet
and white chalk shows my rhymes to the pimps, the school kids, the bill collectors and the grandmothers that walk swiftly to the corner store
I am the street poet
and I survive.

Wisdom is worth more than silver and gold. Knowledge, wisdom,an Understanding . The Ancestors daughter who rise above the devils revenge. The decendants of kings and queens. She can take a $5.00 bill and live for a week. She's a warrior in a jungle and rise up as a jewel. Don't cry for her the ancestors daughter. The light that stands before her the blessing from God.
