And there you stoodÖ
An image of perfection in beauty,
Surrounded by a heavenly glow.
And so there I stood,
Facing you,
Realising that I havenít quite let go.

And then in the heat of the moment
I put my lips to yoursó
Kissed you like I did so many months ago.
And so there we were,
Sitting on your bed,
Then you pulled away and just said no.

And then we didnít mention it anymoreó
Just kept talking like before,
While our feelings we tried not to show.
And days passed by,
The New Year came around,
We kissed, for the last time, tenderly and slow.

And how was I to know,
That the passion still within us,
Would once again begin to grow.
And when we shared ourselves again,
Remembering how good it used to be,
I realised that you too hadnít quite let go.
