A Thanksgiving Prayer Poem

How blessed are we to see another Thanksgiving Day!
May we each be blessed by God
to receive all the things we need
May we, even more importantly,
remember to be a blessing whenever we can
even to strangers on the street
Reach out to family, friends or neighbors, help them all
Let us Thank God for the blessing of being able
to be a blessing in some way large or small
Take time to appreciate the beauty that surrounds us
Find time to improve things where there's a need
Take time to say thank you
Not just in word but in deed
Make time to reach out to an elder or child
Despite life's challenges, there's always a reason to smile
Understand the miracle of fellowship,
for we are meant to come together
And when we do, let us not sing the blues,
but sing a joyful song
Praising His name, thanking Him
for another day -- yes, above dirt!
When we see the sun or the rain
Let us thank Him knowing that our blessings
always, absolutely always outweigh our pain
So this Thanksgiving Day let us remember to thank God
For family, friends and love
For sun, stars, even clouds in the sky above
Let us remain thankful, be grateful for life
This Thanksgiving Day and always
