Tek a rest, tek a rest, tek a rest no saltness

Every time mi try rise downward yu deh press

Give I a rest, give I a rest give I a rest no saltness

Itís my time fi smile, my time fi get bless

Verse 1

Many years of famine, many years of drought

I am lost in maize but mi haffi get out

Now things haffi change no time fi doubt

I must find a method I must find a route

Di system design fi keep di food from wi mouth

But Jah is mi defence so mi must win di bout

Mi coming in from di cold Oh Jah be my coat

So cut and clear Rastafari shout

Verse 2

It look like when things cyaa get badda things get worst

Is this a plot, spell, bad luck or curse?

But di first must come last and di last tun di first

The empty pocket man must get di full purse

So one day some way In I day haffi come

Some way some day InI must pick di plum

So mek mi hum & play mi drum caa mi victory haffi come

Verse 3

Bless InI Oh Jah let all curse melt away

Give me health and wealth and joy I pray

Let this spell of saltness fade fade away

And let this and every day be my day

Just guide me fi work and play

Chant and pray into the prosperous way

Bountiful blessings come my way let saltness stay away

Fade fade away saltness fade away
