One three poems of Betty's in the book, "Whispering Souls", by the poets of Soul Asylum Poetry.

Life of One Rose

Delicate crimson rose, peeking through
the snow, brings sweet fragrances of spring
Scents and shades of vibrant red, pink and yellow
gracefully wed a gentle white flower garden
Rays from Heaven, beam through Summer clouds
like fingers of softness stroking flower petals
Long-winged, snowy white birds fly Heavenward
o'er ocean's foamy spray-breezes of shimmering mist
Warm whispering autumn winds, softly singing
ripples of change, tenderly breathe a sad farewell
Delicate crimson rose, now without petals
weeping soft tears, as the glistening
frost-covered moon, welcomes the winter
in the dazzling starry night.

This is the kind of poetry that I can relate to, Betty. I love the symbolic power of the flower rising through the snow. I have used that myself more than once. It is a powerful symbol. Thank you for sharing your gift. Love and best wishes,
