The Valley of the Ravine

I lived my childhood in a beautiful woods with a ravine, called Lynn Canyon in North Vancouver, BC. It is thousands of miles away so I can never take my Grandchildren to this place. I hope when they read this poem they will know a little of what it was like.

The Valley of the Ravine

Through the secret woods we’ll go
Across a cabled swinging bridge - below,

The river roars the wind will blow
A river that runs forever can be seen;
 In the Valley of the Ravine.

Silent soft whispers - of talking flowers
Magical place above, all that towers
With a raging river that has powers
In The Valley of the Ravine.

The super root highway we will climb
 Deeper till we loose track of time,
Hush of the forest gives us a sign
A mystical fantasy trail can be seen;

Shadows jump, giant trees sway,
Centuries of trees lead the way
Natures hidden place to play
In The Valley of the Ravine.

Rambling over the green mossy lush
Upon our skin ferns delicately brush
Lavished by nature - with no rush
Natures music can be heard and seen;

In The Valley of the Ravine.
Heavenly harmonies displacing gloom
Where every carefree person has room
We are safe like in a mother’s womb
In the Valley of the Ravine.
