The Noises at the Table

A fun poem, inspired when I listened to my three Grandchildren at the dinner table.

Noises at the Table

Slipping and slurping
crunching and munching
no one notices
at all.

the soup barely touches the lip
for a dainty little sip
no one notices
at all.

add a loud crunch
as the toast you munch
no one notices
at all.

Slurping your soup at lunch
do that a whole bunch
no one notices
at all.

Not forgetting sounds from the nose
a little sniff - like smelling a rose
no one notices
at all.

Now a snuff, a burp and a snort
unforgivable by all
this is the last resort
now your noticed
by all.

S.K.,

Funny how the innocence gets out of hand so quickly. I have 9 grandchildren who come over for lunch every Saturday. Trust me, you haven't heard foreign noises until you've heard this crew.(lol) God Bless Em. Boy, have times changed. Peace, Love and Blessings Always, Paul.
