The night is dark, quiet, as still as a pond.
A single pulsating ripple caused by the incessant beat of my heart...
...alone in the dark.
A cry of desperate anguish emits from the depths of my abandoned soul...
Fingers tracing your image imbedded in satin sheets, the space you once filled, now empty, cold and lifeless...
...alone in the dark.
Tears burn hotly on my cheeks, I taste the bitter salt on my lips. The wind whipping furiously, rattling the window pane framing the moon...
...alone in the dark.
Gone are you, you who made me whole, complete, far out of my reach. My cries of loneliness die unheard on the wings of a whispered breeze as I reminisce...
...alone in the dark.
...alone in the dark.

| Your talent for expression is great. I enjoy writings when they are shorter yet all that is said, says it all. Very good. Lady J |
