Doves Songs

Waking in the summer morning,

I hear the dove’s songs come to me.

I know every time I hear them singing

when I open my eyes

A good day it will be

Their singing gives me an uplifting feeling

that I carry throughout the day with me.

When I am swimming in the pool,

they sometime are a pair,

but other times it’s only one

sitting on a fence or electric wire.

They sing the low sounding dove songs

that seems directed especially my way.

They only sing a little while

and then they fly away.

It is such a lovely sound sending love to me.

I wish they would stay around all year long

so I could always hear their songs.

They go away when summer ends.

So I won’t hear their songs again,

until the warmth of springtime

once again begins.
