I attended a workshop at Second Baptist Church for Spiritual Writing Classes. I had four poems published in their Anthology entitled “Characteristics of God” Volume 1 in 2003.

The Story of Truth

The truth heals your soul

and reveals all lies.

Truth is like gold

once the story is told.

Words are precious and pure,

I am trying to embrace them

for the truth is the cure.

So, here’s how the story goes,

Truth stared me in my face

but I denied what I saw -

I accepted nothing but lies.

Lies hit my head

and almost knocked me to my knees.

But I couldn’t comprehend

what was being said, …

I could have been dead.

Oh Lord,

The truth I discarded

because my heart

didn’t want to be broken.

The truth spoke

but my ears

couldn’t hear.

Lord, please let my hearing be clear.

Truth rescue me!

You are the key,

Please set me free.

Now truth lives within me

for when I speak,

I taste its sweetness on my lips.

Hearing the truth may cause a moment’s pain,

But lies hurt and bitterness remains.

I was black, purple and blue

by the time you were through.

I was abused and bruised

I was swollen from head to toe.

Yet, I choose lies over truth.

I don’t want to hurt,

 Truth like rain

washes away grime and dirt.

Lord, help me to hear…

let the truth ring

sweet melodies in my ears.

Truth will bring you through

for you can count on truth.

So devil,

I am going to dry my eyes,

and close my ears;

you can’t tell me a thing!

No more lies!

I am captivating by your writing. It seems so simple on the outside but has meaning on the inside and I love that.

Congrats on having your book published. Thia is anInspirational write with so much truth. Yes ,often it is challenging to face the truth but if you walk in the spirit as I can tell that you do, you will be made to face it. I am talking from tough experience.

The Master teacher said I quote ' know the truth and the truth will set you free. Although the truth took Jesus Christ to Calvary: we now can overcome this world with the truth and the doorway to eternal life will open to us. My dear sister Louise continue to live in Christ's resurrection power and the truth will take you to worlds unknown. Peace!!!

Through God the truth is always heard. Very emotional pen, that reveals the battles we all must face.
