I was lost and alone until you found me, now you are the Wind Beneath My Wings |
|
I was a little brown wren without a nest,
I had no songs to sing, no happiness.
My wings were broken and I couldn't fly,
My fondest wish, was to take to the sky.
I sadly dwelled upon the ground,
A lost creature, unworthy to be found.
Then one day you came to me,
You said," With love and care, how special you could be."
With gentle hands you gathered me in,
You found me worthy and called me friend.
You nurtured and loved me and gave me a home,
Contentment found me, I felt no need to roam.
My wings healed, I can now warble songs of love,
I live in sunshine, basking in warmth from above.
I no longer tremble in the darkness and cry,
You gave me wings of love and now I can fly.

Not taking but giving, not giving but receiving, tenderness can give wings to anything, even to those with broken ones.
