Written with the help of my grandchild at the age of six.

Just for Fun

The little white mouse

In the white house.

Is nice and soft

Lives in the loft

Color like milk

Smooth as silk

Jumping around

Somersaults abound

Everyone knows the mouse

All love him in the house

The kids played with him

But when the light turned dim

One day he disappeared

The kids thought that was weird.

And what fun it is! The poem, and its cadence, put me in a delighful childish mood! I'd like to think the li'l mouse went to look for a likeness of him/her self...

When you get a child to start thinking of the beauty of writing, you have begun a life-long appreciation for words, creativity, and to look into their heart. You are a special man/grandfather.

Please share with your grandchild how much I enjoyed this poem. That I said they are very good and should continue to write poetry. Pretty soon, they will be able to do it all by themselves.
God bless you both. Kathy
