Sometimes, the greed, the suffering and the pain we cause each other becomes all too much...but don't worry - I'll still be here next week!

No More

Still and silent falls the rain

Upon my soul it leaves its stain

Now wearied is my heart of breath

Come death! Come death!

In hunger born of human greed

Our children we condemn to need

We plunder, bomb and rape and steal

There is no hope this world to heal

Pray God! The pain of babes might cease

For mitigation do I plead

We pray thee God for blessed peace

An end to deeds of war and greed

I will not bide here any more

And watch our children march to war

I will not watch our children die

While mothers weep and fathers die

Long fall my bitter tears in flood

For beauty lost in time and blood

So dark the world before my eyes

I have no wish to say goodbyes

Come death! Come death!

Hasten now, to my last breath

No more would I hear children cry

Perforce, I must now say goodbye.

The feeling of a state of emergency. This is what I am left with when I read your poem. And I agree with its content. Totally.

A most heartwrenching write filled with so much greed and heartache, which seems to be running amok in this world of ours today....

Be safe,

Keith how true and how sad, I am going to my studio now to comit seppucu, hope the knifes are sharp enaugh. I hope you're not praying to the same God that the warmongers are praying to Keith, all I know that many of them that run to church on sundays fear for their own little lifes more that to turn the other cheek as that God has taught, there are very few heros like that, and you don't see them getting the purple hearts! Their own little selfish whimsial lifes more important in the now, than in the later, which comes inevitably despite their shallow faith. We don't have to talk about the other sides God we are not responsible to him! This is how effective your poetry has consumed me in one small moment, so it must be brilliant!Jasmin Horst

Honestly written work.
My hope is that people will always continue to try. That each of us will somehow make healing in our world the "main event". You show the saddness of the reality. I appreciated this write.
My best regards,
Chris
