Anticipation

By Amber “V” Moonstone

9/09/08

Our Essence to mingle

Within the daydreams of our minds

The anticipation sends prisms of colors

Within my yearning heart.

You will be in my arms at long last,

No longer a daydream, but a reality,

Taking my soul and body,

Toward that awaited fulfillment.

The clock ticks down,

Only one hour till we kiss

Each other’s soft lips,

Tasting in the wine of effervescence.

I dress with care,

Dabbing my perfume

In all the right places,

Awaiting your approval.

I daydream of you kissing

And touching each

Of these scented places,

That has craved your touch.

Desire wells up in my stomach,

Sending warm waves toward

Womanly pleasures,

Throbbing with anticipation.

Oh, sweet man,

Come to me,

For we will be united,

With such ecstasy and pleasure.

I approach the street corner,

And beneath the dimly lit lamp,

I see a single red rose

With a note attached to it.

“My dearest love,

We have waited so long for this moment,

I am afraid to see you, for fear you will not

Think I am worthy of your love.  I am so sorry,

I could not stay, Perhaps it was just never meant to be.”

I begin to weep, and clutch the rose,

Blood trickles down my hand,

The thorns are now my agony,

A reminder of the pain you have given me.

“Father in Heaven,

Please send him back to me,

I feel it in my heart, that his fear

Is unwarranted!

 Please my love,

Come back to me.

I will wait here

Till the sun comes up.

I can feel the quiver of anticipation from years ago as I awaited the love of my life and dreams and it took five years but here it is thirty-six years later. Well worth the anticipation.
