Karena has a dream, should she follow it?

"A Dream Of Flight" (Karena Series)

by Amber "V" Moonstone

6/28/09

It has been two moons
since peace has come to our village
There is talk of a new Pale Face Chief,
Thomas West baron De La Mar

Our people are very worried about this man
he is a pale face with many tongues.
We do not trust him to honor his words
He has proven to be a liar and unworthy of trust.

Powhatan still hides Pocahontas,
It is rumored that she will be returning
The fighting has died down,
but we continue to be on guard.

The pale face is very sly like the fox,
but we are even more aware
thanks to our Eagle spirit that protects all of us.
One day I will fly with that Eagle and know what he knows.

I long for the day, when all the wisdom
of the Great Spirit and Eagle,
fills me with the most powerful light
that will transfer me into the Universe.

I pray for all of my people,
I pray for a safe return of our Chief's daughter,
and I pray to be reunited with my family
to live in peace with Mother Earth and Father Sun.

This new Pale Face Chief,
has many trickeries in store for my people,
I have seen it in a vision, a very sad vision,
I pray to my Eagle Spirit guide, to help me.

Upon entering into slumber tonight,
I was visited by my father's spirit,
"Karena, you must go get your children,
and your husband, flee Powhatan's home.

Go toward the North, where the sun rises, east,
travel for 6 moons, and settle in
the bay for the rest of your life,
do this as a favor to your Father."

I awoke from a sound sleep with tears in my eyes,
"Father, are you there? Where did you go?
I miss you so much, please come back to me,
Please, come back."

There was no answer, only the dream,
A dream that should become reality.
I feel so torn, and confused.
Could we leave the safety of Powhatan's village?

Should we follow my father's request?
So many questions to be answered.
I must find Tumas and tell him of my dream.
He will know what to do!

Karena, Eagle Medicine Woman

This new Pale Face Chief,
has many trickeries in store for my people

So many pale face chiefs in our nation's sad history had far too much trickery in store for far too many of its native peoples.

This may be a channeled story poem but I for one believe in these types of message dreams when they occur.
I like how you pull us in to feel her emotionally
