Reality can be a rude awakening!

Foolish Dreams
by Amber "V" Moonstone
9/27/09
We fool ourselves,
reaching so far out of our comfort zones.
Even the moon seems attainable,
above the stormy seas.
Bringing clarity to your mind,
As you search the waves of indifference
to find an inability of actions.
Even if the desire is there, the reality is a dream.
Foolish thoughts, become foolish dreams,
No more yearning for an impossibility,
time to follow the tides of time
and live toward freedom of mind and body.
The ship looks so lost
the distance is calling it home,
to be safe within the comforts of conformity,
unwilling to see what destiny does call.
Seeing through spectacles of reality's sight,
knowing what you have lost
and perhaps will never have again.
Leaving shadows of no tomorrows.
Reality struck today,
as a gaze of longing aimed at the horizon,
captured possiblities of a new found life,
only, to be crushed within the echo of clarity's waves.
Send the mermaid back to safe haven,
begin a new song of sentimental journeys
harboring shells of wasted energy
on a comfortable shore of nothing.
Perhaps the tides of eternity's light,
will reign victorious,
but now the rain starts to fall,
and there is nothing but reality's invitation.

| There is little comfort in nothing, and without dreams we are nothing. If you don't dream beyond your comfort zone, then your dreams are just a manifestion of your current reality. Dare to dream big foolish dreams. You have only nothing to lose. Excellent work. Patrick |

reality needs to be built upon, dreams need to be nurtured ... both take time to develop, to consolidate all their energies ...
metaphysically wise words ... |

| WHAT IS FOOLISH TO ONE...IS ANYTHING BUT FOOLISH TO ANOTHER. TO EACH HIS OWN. IF DREAMING HELPS ONE TO COPE THEN LET THEM DREAM...ONLY THEY CAN MAKE THE DECISION TO STOP DREAMING...AND WHO KNOWS? THEY JUST MIGHT REACH THOSE 'IMPOSSIBLE' STARS. GOOD WRITE. ENJOYED AND THANKS FOR SHARING. JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS |

| I believe Romantics are happy/sad people because they do, indeed, temperamentally walk an emotional and psychological tightrope between realms of dream and reality, near and far, possibility and impossibility. At best, there is no escapism, only a fundamental honesty within to seach with integrity ALL the options that may be open, or indeed open up in consequence. And this takes strength, determination and courage, knowing that there is no safety net beneath except our willingness to get back up there and keep walking should we take a fall. Optimists are realists, Amber: they DO see everything in the round but nonetheless are shielded by their positivity so that they will ALWAYS rise again. I have been really moved by the development of this poem. You are a strong and vibrant lady who is both unflinching and undaunted in the face of pain and disappointment. Clarity can sometimes offer so little comfort and to The Dreamer, better the warmth of known-to-be hopeless fantasy than the steady bone-chill of hard fact. It's a choice that we willingly make without sacrificing our intelligence or understanding: we RSVP to reality's invitation but always in the knowledge that plans may change and something better may turn up! Sorry to blab on, but I feel'ya, Babe - especially on the issues of conformity versus destiny: all I know is that ships are made to sail... Heavy waters of resignation or torpor may yet give out onto fresh waves of exhilaration and re-activation! Go placidly :)) xx |

"on a comfortable shore of nothing...."The ship looks so lost
the distance is calling it home,
to be safe within the comforts of conformity,
unwilling to see what destiny does call..."
Such truth with a lovely, but sad repeating, rocking rhythm that reminds me of the sea and truths said so sublimely beautiful that we all face in our lives.
This poem is a 10 for sure! I'd buy it if it's in a book and almost wish I'd wrote it.
How sad when we do not venture forth and face our fears and sail to our "shore of destiny"
Thank you excellent poet mistress! |

| Amber, I think it's important to have hopes and dreams...but sometimes, we need to know when those dreams have the possibility of becoming a reality and when they do not...especially when based upon another person. You have written this so well! |

| Bless you, Amber, for knowing when and how to face reality. Too many don't and wind up in misery. This is a splendid poem on the topic, and should help others who face similar situations! |

My goodness Amber this is an amazing poem...masterfully written...though I feel much heart ache as it unfolds...dreams I think are a gift to embrace, though reality I know can slap one awake...keep your positive energy that you have taught us to use.

Amber my sweet friend it’s not foolish to dream
Dreams it’s what life is made of
Dreams have many purposes
From clarifying problems and revealing our
Deepest feelings, to relieving stress and
Giving us insight remember the movie
If you can dream it they will come
Ok but love will happened
The ship it’s not lost
Wishing you Peace Love and Light…Hugssss…Yolie

| Wow Amber, you are very deep, what you wrote is appealing. Life is also drawing us into nothingness and enchants us with its smyriad of sweet or bitter attractions. But to be safe from all these powers, we have to awaken our soul and our spirit. Great write, Love Emile |

Reality is often just another step between fantasy and today...we can dare to dream, to want, to reach for and to leave ourselves open to the dream of love...
or...we can close our minds and hearts and live in perpetual darkness of shadows
