Living in the Moment
|
There Is Only Today!
by Amber "V" Moonstone
10/05/09
She walked into the bar,
sat down and ordered a drink,
hand touching her cheek,
arm resting on the counter.
He watched every move she made,
never missing a beat,
envisioning what it would be like
to touch that hand upon her cheek.
Strangers passing in the night,
like two ships crossing in the stormy sea,
concentrating on their own rocky vessel,
missing the other's needs.
Eyes meet for a moment suspended in time,
Instant chemistry grabs a hold,
smiles form with softness of mind,
urgency is transferred through a glance.
She gets up, and walks over,
He gets up and touches her cheek,
In that instant, fate has been cast.
Never will their lives be the same.
They hold each other as if familiar
with each other's urgent needs,
warmth and chemistry mingle
like a softly written melody.
Without a word, they leave the bar,
walk down the beachy shore,
stand on the dunes and hold on tight,
as if:
There
Is
Only
Today.

"There's no tomorrow. . ." Love the song, love your romantic and loving spirit, love the way you make us feel we are Sharing the Moment. Yesterday gone, tomorrow, who knows? Seems to me that it has gotten so a lot of couples analyze their relationships to death. Are afraid to b r e a t h e the "L-word." Wasn't any L-word
when my husband and I fell for each other. We couldn't wait to say I LOVE YOU. Not because we took love lightly. Because we didn't! 54 years later, we take it even more seriously. Or. . .maybe I should say "take it anyway we can get it." Love can be difficult. Love
can be quite a challenge. But it is. . .L O V E. Always stay you! Phyllis |

Like the natural progression of this write and it does recall so many memories of my single life and the sixties and seventies. Romance than was just an eye contact away and making love was something you did every chance you could. Interesting and a little different from your usual style but very nice.

How many times we have dreamed with that casual encounter, on top of Seattle's needle, or by Fiontana di Trevi, or Mount Fuji, or on Time's Square with a lighted sign saying, "I love you so much!"
Yes, there is only today...but it would have been so wonderful if...
